Capone’s treasure is buried under Gino’s East
Ayyy woahh Chicago pizza here. For those that aren’t in the know, Gino’s and Giordano’s are constantly killing each other’s employees in a fight to see who originally made the “Chicago Deep Dish” pizza. I think. Giordano’s called it the stuffed pizza, so maybe there is a tentative truce. Anyway, since it’s not really a thin crust this review will be comparing it to Giordano’s (which I fucking love). I guess Gino’s does have a thin crust but their website also says their pizzas are not sold in Minnesota so I don’t know where I would find it.
Pros:
Less crust than a “stuffed” pizza (not stuffed crust, just stuffed. Look it up.)
Tons of fuckin’ cheese.
Same toppings
Cons:
Sauce is different, not exactly worse, but I’d prefer Giordano’s over it. Both have way too much sauce. (-1 point)
There’s less crust, but there’s still WAY too much. (-1 point)
8/10
Final result: they’re both good and satisfy a very particular craving. It’s not for everyone. It’s THICC.
